2014 Stanley Cup Finals Game 2 Betting Tip

Things did not start out as planned for the Kings or my wager in game 1 with the Rangers absolutely controlling the first period and ending it up 2-0 on a couple of breakaway goals from slopping LA defending.  Sutter must have said something motivating in the intermission though because the Kings looked like a different team from then on and for the most part took the game to the Rangers.  After a quick couple goals to tie the third period produced nothing, which meant overtime in the first game of the Finals.  Leave it to Justin William, mister clutch, to score the overtime goal and give the Kings a 1-0 lead in the series and also win us some money.

On to game 2:

Rangers @ Kings Game 2

LA Kings logoI expect game 2 to be more of the same without the horrible first period by the LA Kings.  The Kings have the momentum now and when they are rolling it’s very difficult for their opposition.  I expect a better game out of Drew Doughty as well, who was a bit of a goat on the two Rangers goals in the first period before making up for it with a beautiful individual effort.  Doughty is usually rock solid on the back-end and I don’t see him coughing up the puck in this one.  All of these these thoughts lead me to one conclusion: another Kings win.  They are just the better all around team than the Rangers and as long as they can score a few goals on King Henrik they should be lifting the Stanley Cup very soon.
