Last night we broke even after the Sens couldn’t hold onto their victory in the third period, while the Flyers put forth a great comeback effort winning with a beautiful Giroux goal in overtime. When the Senators are in a one goal game going into the third anything can happen seeing as they are the highest scoring third period team in the league and allow the second most third period goals against. This Thursday we have another big night in the NHL which is great for those of us who enjoy our NHL betting! I’m going with 5 games tonight! Tonight will have a big influence on the record, which after breaking even last night is at (61-55) for +7.23 units.
Florida Panthers @ Boston Bruins
The Panthers have been playing some great hockey having beat the Capitals and Sharks in their last two games. The Bruins of course just lost to Winnipeg and after their last loss they bounced back with a win. I am looking at these odds and just think that the Panthers are too big of dogs in this one when you look at their 9-6-0 away record and how they have been playing of late. The Bruins are human and I expect the Panthers to come out with a big win tonight.

Chicago Blackhawks @ New York Islanders
The Islanders are riding a two game winning streak and have been decent at home this season with a 6-6-2 record. The Blackhawks are 8-6-1 on the road. Emery is in net for the Hawks tonight. He has a 4-1-2 record, but this numbers aren’t great and he will be facing Al Montoya who is 5-3-2 with much better numbers and he has allowed only 1 goal in his last 2 games.
Play: Islanders +130 (5Dimes.com)
Pittsburgh Penguins @ Philadelphia Flyers
The Penguins are without Crosby tonight, but it may come as a surprise that they actually average a slightly higher points per game without their superstar then playing without him. However, the general public will consider this a great blow to the team which likely resulted in the Penguins odds being lengthened. The Penguins are 8-6-2 on the road this season, while the Flyers are 6-4-2 at home. Philadelphia had a tough overtime game last night against Buffalo where they had to come from behind for the victory. The Flyers are 2-2-1 in back-to-back games this year.
Play: Penguins +110 (5Dimes.com)
Vancouver Canucks @ Montreal Canadiens
The Canucks have finally started playing like the team they were last season winning 8 of their last 10 games. They are also riding a 2 game winning streak and have gone 8-6-0 on the road this year. The Sedin’s are clicking with Burrows as expected and the team should be able to score against the struggling Canadiens. Montreal is 4-5-5 at home and have lost 5 of their last 6 games. Luongo is starting so that is a bit of a concern, but I think the Canucks are so much better than the Habs they will win despite Luongo.
Play: Canucks -125 (5Dimes.com)
Minnesota Wild @ Los Angeles Kings
The Wild can’t seem to lose, but they are consistently underdogs. I’m going to ride the Wild until they learn how to lose again. Minnesota has won 5 in a row and sit first in the NHL by a three point margin, yet they are fairly big dogs to the Kings who have gone 8-7-1 at home and have lost their last 2 games, both against struggling teams (Ducks and Habs).
