Last night was tough to swallow with 3 of my 4 plays losing, 2 of which were in extra time. Luckily, the Oilers were able to pull out a big underdog win on the heels of Sam Gagner’s remarkable 8 point night. Tonight there are only 5 games on the schedule, but I’m confident I will turn this losing skid around. The season record now sits at (96-106) for -7.00 units.
New York Islanders @ Ottawa Senators
I watch all of the Ottawa Senators games and although the team is on a 4 game skid they have not been playing bad hockey. Last game they played the Bruins in Boston and were the better team 5 on 5 for the entire game, but the penalties and a shot from center ice killed them. Tonight they do not have O’Rourke refereeing the game, which should put the players minds at ease after all of the controversy that surrounded his calls in 3 of their last 4 contests. I expect the Sens to rebound against an Islanders team that has been strong of late, which is why the Sens are not huge favourites.

Los Angeles Kings @ St. Louis Blues
The Kings got a lucky win in Columbus when the clock stopped for just enough time for Doughty to pot a winner in regulation. It is unlikely that will happen against a Blues team that is much stronger and has been terrific at home this season. The Blues have gone (21-3-4) in their home rink and have continued to play well every since Hitchcock joined the team. I expect the Blues to simply outclass the Kings tonight and take this one down.
