I went 1 and 1 in my first day back making NHL picks, with the Flyers coming out on top as expected, but the Blackhawks losing late to the Rangers took away all of our potential profit. The season record now sits at 28-54 for -29.35 units. Check out the NHL wild card standings just over half way to see how the teams stack up right now.
Dallas Stars @ New Jersey Devils
The Stars are on a three game losing streak, but I still think they are the better team in this scenario and they have had a few games to think about their embarrassing 7-3 loss to the Islanders. I expect a bounce back game against the Devils, who in my opinion are over performing to this point in the season.

Florida Panthers @ Buffalo Sabres
The battle of the two worst teams in the Eastern Conference. Both of these teams have won 5 of their last 10 though, and the Sabres actually haven’t been quite as horrible at home as they have been normally this season posting a 9-12-2 record. The Panthers have only won a third of their road games this season, so I’m taking the Sabres as underdogs at home in this one.
Play: Sabres 2.13 (5Dimes)
Toronto Maple Leafs @ Carolina Hurricanes
The Maple Leafs are absolutely horrible right now. I’m surprised that Carlyle hasn’t been fired yet. The Hurricanes are on a bit of a tear winning 4 in a row and hosting the Maple Leafs who are 7-8-4 on the road this season and have been playing bad hockey over the past month should get them to 5.
Play: Hurricanes 1.80 (SportsInteraction)
St. Louis Blues @ Calgary Flames
The Flames have been shut out in 4 of their last 6 games and the Blues have given up the third fewest goals in the league this year. I think it will be very difficult for the Flames to find the back of the net in this one, and likely not that difficult for the Blues to do the same.
Play: Blues 1.57 (5Dimes)
