Five games on tap in the NHL today. This is going to be a quick post and then I will likely not get anything up for the weekend.
Season Record: 42-82 for -40.47 units.
New York Rangers @ Carolina Hurricanes
The Rangers are close to dropping out of playoff contention and they have not been playing well since the break. They did pull off a win in San Jose a few nights ago, but I don’t think they will be able to add another tonight. The Rangers lost their first game with Martin St. Louis and you can be sure he won’t want them losing another. He will have now had a day to rest and I expect a big game from Marty tonight. The Rangers are not out of the woods in the East either so this is a huge game for them.
Play: Rangers 1.84 (BetOnline)
New Jersey Devils @ Detroit Red Wings
The Devils are only two points back of the Red Wings and a win tonight will move them into a tie with the Wings having a game in hand. The Red Wings played last night losing in overtime to the Colorado Avalanche and these back-to-back games may not bode well for a Red Wings team that is having to play guys who aren’t used to it more in the absence of Datsyuk and Zetterberg. I like the Devils to pull of a big win on the road tonight.
Play: Devils 1.98 (BetOnline)
