Detroit couldn’t quite pull off the comeback for us last night, with Jimmy Howard not having his best game of the season. Tonight we’re back at it finding 2 plays from a busy NHL schedule that will see 20 teams in action.
Ottawa Senators @ Boston Bruins
The Senators have not been finding ways to win lately, but the Bruins are playing their second of back-to-back games and I think this gives the Senators a big enough edge to justify betting them at +150. The Bruins are only (9-7-3) at home, while the Sens are (7-8-4) on the road. The Sens have basically put themselves out of the playoff race, having to win at least two-thirds of their final games to have a shot, but you can still expect them to come out hard against their division rivals with the hopes of starting a big winning streak to put them back into the hunt.
My Pick: Ottawa Senators +150 (Bookmaker.com)
Toronto Maple Leafs @ San Jose Sharks
Sticking with the back-to-back game idea, the Leafs are coming off a hard fought battle against the Los Angeles Kings and will likely be a bit fatigued once the third period rolls around tonight against the Sharks. San Jose has lost 4 straight, so this is an extremely important game for them to get back on track and continue their push for the playoffs in the tight Western Conference. San Jose is a very good team, but they have yet to show it consistently this season. I expect a large offensive outburst tonight against a tired Maple Leafs team, enough so that the Sharks cover the puckline and win by at least 2 goals.
My Pick: San Jose Sharks (-1.5 ) +125 (Sportsbook.com)
