NHL Betting Predictions October 28th

Chicago Blackhawks logoThe hot streak is still alive.  After a little blip in the radar Wednesday night we were back on track going 3 for 3 last night!  Those wins bring the season record to (24-15) for +9.79 units!  It’s going to be hard to continue this pace for the rest of the season, but we should be able to continue building over the next 70 games.  Tonight it’s a bit of a slow night with just 4 games on tap, but I like 3 of the lines again.  I’m making a few more plays than I normally would, but when you are on a hot streak it’s important to ride it out because you are seeing the games more clearly.  If I lose a few nights in a row you will see me start to pick fewer games as I try to regain confidence.

Chicago Blackhawks @ Carolina Hurricanes

The Blackhawks have been very good this year, their record is currently (5-1-2) with 2 of the 3 losses coming in a shootout.  Their one regulation loss was their first game of the year when Kari Lehtonen stood on his head stopping 37 of 38 shots.  The Hurricanes are on a 3 game losing streak and I don’t expect this to end tonight against one of the top teams in the NHL.  Corey Crawford is the confirmed starter for the Blackhawks tonight and as long as he plays a steady game the Blackhawks should outplay the ‘Canes enough to get a win.

San Jose Sharks @ Detroit Red Wings

The Sharks are riding a 3 game winning streak (3 for 3 with Havlat), while the Red Wings have faultered after a great start losing 2 in a row, the most recent loss giving the Blue Jackets their first win of the season.  The Sharks have a better all around team than the Red Wings and they will continue to be very focused as they remain at the bottom of the Pacific division.

Play: Sharks +112 (BetOnline.com)

St. Louis Blues @ Calgary Flames

The Blues ride a 3 game winning streak into Calgary, which includes big wins over strong teams Vancouver and Philadelphia.  Calgary is not a strong team this year and I expect them to finish near the bottom of the Western Conference.  The Blues are playing too well and they will be ready to build on their 3-0 win over the Canucks as they continue on their trip across Western Canada.

Play: Blues +107 (BetOnline.com)
