Last night didn’t go as planned and we lost both of our plays to drop the season record down to (68-64) for +7.55 units. The rookie goaltenders ended up having poor nights, which cost us a couple units. Tonight it’s a Saturday which means there are plenty of games to choose from so let’s find some sharp bets to get back in the win column.
Buffalo Sabres @ Pittsburgh Penguins
The Sabres have been amazing on the road this season (8-3-0) and although they haven’t been playing their best hockey of late they did win last night over the Maple Leafs and will look to carry that momentum into Pittsburgh tonight. The Penguins lost in Ottawa last night so both teams are playing the second of back to back games, but the smart money is on the Sabres because of the much larger payout and their ability to win games on the road.
Play: Sabres +130 (SportsInteraction.com)
**This is a perfect game to take advantage of the free $20 Sports Interaction bet we have negotiated for new accounts. Click here to learn more.
New Jersey Devils @ Montreal Canadiens
The Devils are playing their second of back to backs, but they have won 4 of a previous 7 games on the second of back to back nights so they have shown they will have some left in the tank. The Habs have been a brutal 5-6-6 at home this season and combine this with the fact that the Devils are big dogs according to the bookies and you have to come to the realization that the Devils is the smart play tonight.
Play: Devils +130 (5Dimes.com)
St. Louis Blues @ Nashville Predators
The Blues have been playing some great hockey, but then again so have the Predators as each team is on a four game winning streak. A lot of the Blues success however has to be attributed to Brian Elliot and it’s Halak who gets the nod in net tonight. Halak is 5-7-3 on the season, and hasn’t played in over a week so based on the goaltending and the home ice advantage I’m taking the Predators in this pick’em game.
Play: Predators -105 (5Dimes.com)
Washington Capitals @ Colorado Avalanche
The Capitals seem to be starting to turn things around and there aren’t many better teams to continue to improve offensively against than the Colorado Avalanche. I expect a big game out of the Capitals stars tonight and for the team to get another win under Dale Hunter.
Play: Capitals -123 (5Dimes.com)

The Flyers came through for us in a tight battle with the Canadiens last night to win our only play of the night. That victory brings the season record to (68-62) for +9.55 units. Tonight is the night we get back to a 10 unit profit on the season!
Dallas Stars @ New Jersey Devils
The Stars are rolling on a three game winning streak and they head into New Jersey to play a team that is coming off of two big road victories and have been resting since Tuesday. The Stars played last night and won a tight game against the Islanders. The three game winning streak has largely been due to the stellar goaltending from Richard Bachman who is 3-0 this season with a .970 save percentage and a 0.90 GAA. Richard is back in net tonight and I expect him to continue to play well with the confidence he has built. The Stars have relied on solid goaltending this season from both Bachman and Lehtonen and I expect them to pull out the win tonight as a minor underdog.
Play: Stars +130 (5Dimes.com)
Calgary Flames @ Florida Panthers
The Flames are also playing their second of back to back games after a tough OT loss to Tampa Bay last night. That being said the Flames are 6-2-2 in their last ten games and have been playing their best hockey of the season. The Panthers have only won 4 of their last 10 and are starting to fade from their amazing start to the season. The Flames are coming out with Leland Irving in goal tonight, who is playing his first NHL game. With rookie goaltenders you often find they will either steal the show or get lit up. I’m willing to take this chance with the great payout for the Flames tonight.

The Coyotes didn’t come through for us last night so we lost 1.15 units there, which brings the season record to (67-62) for +8.55 units. Tonight there are a lot of games, but I only found one line that I really like.
Philadelphia Flyers @ Montreal Canadiens
The Flyers have been on a tear lately and although the Habs have been playing well I’m leaning towards the Flyers in this one. Giroux is out, but the the team didn’t skip a beat without him last game and their depth is impressive. The Canadiens have been playing a little better of late, but they are still 5-5-6 at home, which is a brutal record and I expect it to get worse tonight.
Flyers -115 (5Dimes.com)

Last night was a little nerve wracking, but each of our big underdogs came through with comeback wins, one in OT and one in a shootout, making for a profitable night. The Penguins were crushed by the Red Wings however, which meant a 2-1 night for +1.87 units, bringing the season record to (67-61) for +9.70 units. Tonight we break +10 again!
Phoenix Coyotes @ Anaheim Ducks
The Ducks have been by far the worst team in the NHL of late and although they haven’t been quite as bad at home I still see the Coyotes taking this game. Phoenix is 9-5-1 on the road this season. They are on a two game losing streak, but both of these losses came to teams that were rolling (Red Wings and Wild). The Coyotes are a solid team, but this is primarily a Ducks fade bet. I don’t believe in Anaheim and I don’t see them turning around their fortunes anytime soon.

After 2 nights off due to a lack of games and sharp plays the NHL is back with a plethora of games typical of a Tuesday night. Saturday night I went 1 for 3 for -0.77 units, which brings the season to date record to (65-60) for +7.53 units.
Ottawa Senators @ Buffalo Sabres
The Senators are in a bit of a slump losing their last 3 games, but the Sabres have also not been playing their best hockey lately having lost 7 of their last 10 games. The Sens are 6-7-3 on the road, while the Sabres are an equally uninmpressive 7-9-2 at home. Ryan Miller is the confirmed starter tonight and he has been shaky of late. This should be a tight game that the Sens could pull out with a good payout.
Play: Senators +145 (SportsInteraction.com)
**This is also a perfect game to take advantage of the free $20 bet we have negotiated with Sports Interaction to go along with the 100% matching bonus up to $125. Click here to learn more.
Detroit Red Wings @ Pittsburgh Penguins
The Penguins have been great at home this season (8-2-2) and the Red Wings have been suspect on the road (6-7-0). The Red Wings have been playing some of their best hockey of the year which is why they are the favourites in this one, but the fact that Crosby is out likely also is playing a role with the bookmakers. The fact is however that the Penguins have been just as good with or without Crosby this year. For this reason I’m taking the solid payout on a Penguins team that is hard to beat at home.
Play: Penguins +106 (5Dimes.com)
New Jersey Devils @ Florida Panthers
The Devils have been good on the road this season (9-8-0) and the Panthers haven’t been overly great at home (6-2-4). The Devils are a good team and the Panthers have been playing over their heads so far this season. I like a play on the Devils here because it’s solid value.

Last night was a busy night in the NHL and we had 5 plays on board. Lucky for us 3 of our 5 came through, including 2 big dog plays to finish the day (3-2) for +2.07 units! This brings the season record back up to (64-57) for +9.30 units. I’m excited to hit that +10 unit plateau tonight.
Florida Panthers @ Buffalo Sabres
The Panthers have lost their 3 2nd of back-to-back games this season, but they have been playing so well recently that I believe they have what it takes to defeat a struggling Sabres team that has won only 2 of their last 8 games and is 6-8-2 at home this season. The Panthers are 10-6-0 on the road and they are coming off of a huge win against the Boston Bruins, who are one of the top teams in the league. That win last night could either serve to pump the Panthers up or may result in a let down for them tonight as they don’t bring their A game after such an emotional win. Scott Clemmensen is the confirmed starter for the Panthers tonight and he has yet to lose this season.

Last night we broke even after the Sens couldn’t hold onto their victory in the third period, while the Flyers put forth a great comeback effort winning with a beautiful Giroux goal in overtime. When the Senators are in a one goal game going into the third anything can happen seeing as they are the highest scoring third period team in the league and allow the second most third period goals against. This Thursday we have another big night in the NHL which is great for those of us who enjoy our NHL betting! I’m going with 5 games tonight! Tonight will have a big influence on the record, which after breaking even last night is at (61-55) for +7.23 units.
Florida Panthers @ Boston Bruins
The Panthers have been playing some great hockey having beat the Capitals and Sharks in their last two games. The Bruins of course just lost to Winnipeg and after their last loss they bounced back with a win. I am looking at these odds and just think that the Panthers are too big of dogs in this one when you look at their 9-6-0 away record and how they have been playing of late. The Bruins are human and I expect the Panthers to come out with a big win tonight.
Play: Panthers +171 (BetOnline.com)
Chicago Blackhawks @ New York Islanders
The Islanders are riding a two game winning streak and have been decent at home this season with a 6-6-2 record. The Blackhawks are 8-6-1 on the road. Emery is in net for the Hawks tonight. He has a 4-1-2 record, but this numbers aren’t great and he will be facing Al Montoya who is 5-3-2 with much better numbers and he has allowed only 1 goal in his last 2 games.
Play: Islanders +130 (5Dimes.com)
Pittsburgh Penguins @ Philadelphia Flyers
The Penguins are without Crosby tonight, but it may come as a surprise that they actually average a slightly higher points per game without their superstar then playing without him. However, the general public will consider this a great blow to the team which likely resulted in the Penguins odds being lengthened. The Penguins are 8-6-2 on the road this season, while the Flyers are 6-4-2 at home. Philadelphia had a tough overtime game last night against Buffalo where they had to come from behind for the victory. The Flyers are 2-2-1 in back-to-back games this year.
Play: Penguins +110 (5Dimes.com)
Vancouver Canucks @ Montreal Canadiens
The Canucks have finally started playing like the team they were last season winning 8 of their last 10 games. They are also riding a 2 game winning streak and have gone 8-6-0 on the road this year. The Sedin’s are clicking with Burrows as expected and the team should be able to score against the struggling Canadiens. Montreal is 4-5-5 at home and have lost 5 of their last 6 games. Luongo is starting so that is a bit of a concern, but I think the Canucks are so much better than the Habs they will win despite Luongo.
Play: Canucks -125 (5Dimes.com)
Minnesota Wild @ Los Angeles Kings
The Wild can’t seem to lose, but they are consistently underdogs. I’m going to ride the Wild until they learn how to lose again. Minnesota has won 5 in a row and sit first in the NHL by a three point margin, yet they are fairly big dogs to the Kings who have gone 8-7-1 at home and have lost their last 2 games, both against struggling teams (Ducks and Habs).

We kept the strong week going last night with another 3 wins. Two of the wins were posted here on the website and the third pick (Columbus +150) was sent out exclusively to newsletter subscribers. The season record is now (60-54) for +7.23 units, let’s keep the comeback rolling! Tonight there are only 3 games in the NHL, but I’ve found 2 plays that I like.
Washington Capitals @ Ottawa Senators
The Capitals beat the Senators in overtime in Washington on Saturday, but then they went right back to their losing ways with a 5-4 loss to Florida. Of the Caps last 6 games the only win came at home in overtime against the Senators. The Capitals road record on the season is 4-8-0 and there isn’t a lot of evidence to suggest they will turn that around tonight. The Sens won a big game over the Lightning at home on Monday and will carry that momentum into tonight’s game. December should be a big month for the Sens who play a lot of games at home where their record this season is 7-4-1. And yet even with all of these stats, trends and the way the teams are playing the Sens are still underdogs.
Play: Senators +105 (SportsInteraction.com)
***Remember than all visitors who sign up for SportsInteraction.com in the month of December through one of our links receive a free $20 NHL bet on top of the current 100% matching bonus up to $125!
Philadelphia Flyers @ Buffalo Sabres
The Flyers have won 2 in a row and are 9-3-1 on the road this season. The Sabres are 6-8-1 at home and have won 2 of their last 7. Jagr has definitely helped the Flyers who have won the two games since his return. I expect the Flyers to continue their road dominance and the Sabres to continue their sub par play tonight.
Play: Flyers -115 (5Dimes.com)

I’ve been on a little bit of a cold streak with my predictions over the last few weeks so hopefully this offer will help some of you loyal visitors win back some cash.
I have negotiated a deal with Sports Interaction to offer all Canadian residents a $20 FREE NHL BET in December.
How It Works
In order to qualify for this free $20 wager you must be a Canadian citizen and sign up at SportsInteraction.com through a link found here at NHL Betting Tips in the month of December. Sports Interaction is attempting to gain a larger Canadian market share, which is why they are willing to offer this free bet.
The $20 free NHL bet is in addition to the current 100% matching bonus up to $125 new sign ups at Sports Interaction receive.
I’m sure you will have noticed that Sports Interaction is a site we often recommend as having the best odds on certain NHL games. In fact, we have found some great hedging opportunities between Sports Interaction and 5Dimes.com on various occasions. So it is smart to have a Sports Interaction account anyways, even without this free $20 bet, but of course the $20 free wager makes it sweeter and means you have absolutely nothing to lose by signing up at Sports Interaction.
The free $20 bet is considered a “guaranteed bet”, which means you can’t lose. If your first NHL wager loses Sports Interaction refunds the bet up to $20. Here is a hint: bet on an underdog with your free bet because the return is higher and if you lose you get your $20 refunded.
So what are you waiting for…….
