Bet on the Senators and Thrashers Tonight

Ottawa Senators +105
Toronto Maple Leafs -125

The Senators are finding their game back after a troublesome roadtrip that saw them go 1-3 out west.  The Leafs are also finding their game and have been one of the top teams in the NHL for the past few weeks.  Ottawa currently holds a 2-0 advantage in the season series.  I’m expecting a tight battle between these two rivals and I wouldn’t be  surprised if either team came out on top, but I’m going to have to give a slight edge to my Sens.  Match this with the underdog status on Bookmaker.com and you have my pick for tonights game.

I bet the Ottawa Senators at +105.

Atlanta Thrashers +120
NY Rangers -140

These NHL odds seem a little bit strange to me considering the Thrashers have been playing well lately, going 6-4 in their last ten and the Rangers have been on a steady decline with a 3-7 record in their past ten games.  Add this to the 9-6 road record for the Thrashers and the 7-8 Rangers home record and you might start to think that the odds should be switched up.  Perhaps swapped.  In this game I’m going to go with the mathematics.  I’m taking the team that has been better in the last ten, has the better road vs home record and has the best payout.

I bet the Atlanta Thrashers at +120.

Bet on the Lightning and Wild

Edmonton Oilers +100
Tampa Bay Lightning -120

The Oilers are currently riding a three game winning streak into Tampa, but I have a feeling that is the number it will end at.  This will be there 4th stop on a 5 game road trip and surprisingly enough they are 3-0 on this road trip so far beating Detroit, Dallas and Florida.  This hot road streak has improved the Oilers road record from a horrible 2 – 10 to a slightly more respectable 5 – 10.  The games near the end of the road trip are always more difficult and the fact they are playing a decent home, that is currently battling on the playoff bubble, I feel sways the odds in Tampa’s favour.

I bet on the Tampa Bay Lightning at -120

Minnesota Wild +110
Colorado Avalanche -130

In this game I’m going to continue with my NHL predictions trend and not bet against my Western Conference hopeful, the Minnesota Wild.  The Avalanche have started to revert back to the team they were expected to be when the season began going 4-6 in their last ten.  The Wild on the other hand have gone 6-4 in their last ten and are coming off of a tough loss to the Coyotes.  You can expect them to try to get back on track quickly because every game is huge if the Wild hope to make playoffs even this early in the season.  Look for the Wild to answer the bell and come out strong against the surprising Northwest Division leader Avalanche.

I bet the Minnesota Wild at +110.

Bet on Coyotes, Hurricanes and Thrashers

Toronto Maple Leafs -110
Carolina Hurricanes -110

The Hurricanes and Leafs are the two worst teams in the league.  I’m banking on home ice helping the Hurricanes to a victory tonight, but it won’t be a pretty game.

I bet the Carolina Hurricanes at -110

Place Your Own Bet Now!

Phoenix Coyotes +155
St. Louis Blues -175

I assume these widespread odds are due to the fact that the Coyotes played last night.  This does hurt their chances, but I think they still have a good enough road record to beat a Blues team that is struggling having lost their last two games and only winning two of their last ten.

I bet the Phoenix Coyotes at +155

Boston Bruins +100
Atlanta Thrashers -120

The Thrashers have been on a tear since Kovalchuk has been back and I don’t see any reason for this to stop.  The Bruins have only won 3 of their last 10 and are 2-5 on the road this year.

I bet the Atlanta Thrashers at -120

Bet Wild and Senators Tonight

Minnesota Wild +125
Toronto Maple Leafs -140

The Maple Leafs are starting to heat up thanks to the stellar play of Gustavsson, but the Wild are also playing well lately having won 3 of their last 4, including their first away win of the season.  This game could really go either way, but like I always say, when the game can go either way, take the team that pays more.

I bet the Minnesota Wild at +125

Edmonton Oilers +135
Ottawa Senators -155

The Oilers have been playing more like they should be lately losing 3 of their last 4.  I’m not an Oilers fan at all and I think they have been overachieving thus far in the season, even though they still aren’t in a playoff position in the West.  The Senators, I feel are the real deal and I believe they will show this tonight with a dominating performance.  Look for Alffy to continue to put up points and for the Sens to not blow up in the third period like they did against the Devils last game.

I bet the Ottawa Senators at -155

Bet on the Lightning and Canucks Tonight

Tampa Bay Lightning +130
Toronto Maple Leafs -145

Tampa Bay is currently 0-5 on the road and similarly, the Toronto Maple Leafs are 0-5 at home this season.  Tonight is going to be the first win for somebody in one of those categories.  The Leafs play has been improving over their last few games, but they are still having trouble finishing teams off……..they still only have 1 win this season.  The Lightning on the other hand are on the decline, coming off 2 losses.  I feel that this game could go either way, and with a completely 50/50 game, I have to choose the underdog, which surprisingly enough is the Tampa Bay Lightning.

I bet the Tampa Bay Lightning at +130.

New York Rangers -115
Vancouver Canucks -105

Gaborik is back, which makes the Rangers very dangerous.  They are 9-4 with Gaborik in the line-up, but their road record this season is 3-4.  Compare this with the Canucks home record of 6-2 and you will see why I am leaning toward the Canucks tonight.  Raycroft has been playing well, even recording a shutout in his last start, and I’m hoping he and the Canucks can shut down Gaborik, Prospal, Kotalik and Del Zotto.

I bet the Vancouver Canucks at -105.

Bet on the Flyers and Canucks Tonight

I’ve been in quite the slump lately and I’m hoping my bets tonight will pull me out.

Philadelphia Flyers +125
Washington Capitals -145

This is going to be one hell of a game.  Ovechkin and Richards will be battling like they always do and you can expect each of these elite players to bring their A games tonight.  The Capitals are on a 4 game winning streak, while the Flyers have been on the downhill lately.  Even though this is the case I’m going with the underdogs tonight like usual.

I bet the Philadelphia Flyers at +125.

Detroit Red Wings -115
Vancouver Canucks -105

Both of these teams are having slow starts to the season and each need to pick it up to make their fans happy.  I have been impressed with how the Canucks have played this season, even with their slow start.  Luongo is starting to look like the elite goaltender that he is and the top two lines in Vancouver are really starting to come on strong.  Henrik Sedin is showing that he can play without his brother and he will need to be the Canucks best player again tonight to defeat the Wings.

I bet the Vancouver Canucks at -105.

Bet the Phoenix Coyotes over the New York Rangers

There are four games in the NHL this evening and I am going to place a wager on just one.

Phoenix Coyotes +135
New York Rangers -155

I think this will be a tight low scoring battle.  The Coyotes have shown throughout the early part of the season that they are a solid group that is working well together and keeping the puck out of their net.  Bryzgalov has played outstanding so far this year and I expect this to continue.  If the Coyotes can shut down the Rangers, who have surprised many people with a high powered offense this year led by Marian Gaborik, they should be able to squeak out a one goal win.

I bet the Phoenix Coyotes at +135.

NHL Betting for October 19th, 2009

I haven’t been getting my bets right for the past little while, but I have a feeling tonight is going to be the big turn around for me.

San Jose -110
New York Rangers -110

The Rangers have been too good this year for pretty much every opponent and I don’t see it stopping now.  The Sharks have been somewhat inconsistent, but they are starting to find their game.  Look for this to be a close tilt, with the Rangers using their home ice advantage to pull out a W.

I bet the New York Rangers at -110

Vancouver Canucks -105
Edmonton Oilers -115

The Canucks have been playing under their capability so far and the Oilers have been performing far past their capability.  I’m hoping that everything goes back to the way it should be tonight with the Canucks winning the game.  If Luongo doesn’t get chased out of the net once again, I think the Canucks dominance should show through and allow Vancouver to get back on track in the Western Conference.

I bet the Vancouver Canucks at -105

NHL Betting Predictions October 14th

I’m going to keep this post short because I’m low on time.  Basically I bet on two games for this evening.

LA Kings +140
NY Rangers -160

The Kings and Rangers have both been off to huge starts so I took the Kings because of the odds.

I bet the LA Kings at +140.

Nashville Predators +140
Dallas Stars -160

I think the Preds will come out hard to avenge their embarrassing loss to the Oilers the other night.  Watch for them to dominate the Stars and take the game.

I bet the Nashville Predators at +140.

Bet on the Colorado Avalanche and Calgary Flames on October 13th

I’ve been in a bit of slump lately, losing 5 of my last 6 bets, but I have a feeling things are going to turn around tonight.  I’ve found two bets that I am pretty confident in.

Calgary Flames +120
Columbus Blue Jackets -140

The Flames blew a huge 5 goal lead last night in Chicago and I think they will be ready to go tonight.  They want to put that horrible loss behind them so I expect Calgary to come out with a strong effort tonight.  Columbus has been playing well, so I think the game could really go either way, but with the +120 odds I have to take Calgary.

I bet the Calgary Flames at +120

Colorado Avalanche +105
Toronto Maple Leafs -125

The Leafs have yet to win a game and they haven’t even really came close since their first game of the season vs the Canadiens.  I haven’t seen any signs of Toronto becoming a winning team.  Both teams played yesterday, but Colorado’s game was a matinee so they will be slightly more rested than the Leafs.  As long as Anderson plays and has a solid game, the Avs should take this one and keep the Maple Leafs winless on the season.

I bet the Colorado Avalanche at +105
