Last night we broke even thanks to Henrik Lundqvist coming up huge, winning a 0-0 game in a shootout over the Sabres. This brings the season record to (95-103) for -5.00 units on the season. It’s Thursday and that means there are plenty of games to choose from for tonights predictions, so I’m searching for my first winning night in some time. I think tonight will begin another hot streak!
Nashville Predators @ Philadelphia Flyers
The Predators are on an absolute heater having won 5 games in a row and 10 of their last 11. They don’t seem to be able to lose. Take last game for example. The Wild were up 4-1 with 10 minutes left in the 3rd and the Preds rallied to score four goals to win in regulation. The Flyers on the other hand have gone to a shootout in their last 3 games and have been playing basically .500 hockey for the past 1.5 months. On top of this the Flyers have not been great at home all season with an 11-7-4 record. I definitely like the Preds in this one as underdogs.

Winnipeg Jets @ Tampa Bay Lightning
The Lightning are starting to turn their season around. They have won 5 in a row and are set to host a Winnipeg team that has an 8-14-4 record on the road this season. I was expecting the Lightning to be huge favourites in this one, but they are a modest -130. Tampa cannot afford to take their foot off the pedal if they hope to challenge for a playoff spot down the stretch.

Chicago Blackhawks @ Edmonton Oilers
The Blackhawks have lost 3 games in a row (2 to the streaking Preds and 1 to the Canucks though). They do have Sharp and Toews back in the lineup, which will help them, especially on the offensive side of the ice, but the Hawks have been a losing team on the road this season (10-9-3) and have lost their last 5 road games. The Oilers have gone 13-8-3 at home this season and have won 2 of the 3 games against the Blackhawks this season, including a huge 9-2 victory in the one game in Edmonton. At +155 I don’t see how you can pass up the Oilers in this one.

Detroit Red Wings @ Vancouver Canucks
The Red Wings pulled off a road victory coming out of the All Star break, but heading into Vancouver is quite a bit different than visiting Calgary. The Red Wings have a .500 record on the road this season, while the ‘Nucks are 15-6-3 at home. The Canucks are also on a 3 game home winning streak. It is confirmed Howard vs Luongo tonight and as just slight favourites I like the Canucks in this one.

It always amazes me when I look at the ProLine parlay payout compared to what you can get online. If I bet $10 in a parlay with these 4 plays I would be expecting a $178.63 payout, while if I bet the same 4 plays in ProLine I could only be hoping for $103.50. That’s a $75 difference on a little $10 parlay. Another reason why not to bet on proline!
