NHL Betting Predictions February 14th

Senators logoThe Coyotes lost in a shootout last night in my only play of the evening.  It’s always frustrating when you are a coin flip away from a big dog’s victory only to end up on the wrong end of the coin.  Well today it’s Valentine’s day, but more importantly it’s a Tuesday, which means there are plenty of games to choose from in the NHL.  My season record to date now sits at (104-118) for -11.57 units.

Ottawa Senators @ Tampa Bay Lightning

The Lightning have lost 3 of their last 4, but 2 of these losses came on a recent 3 game road team against a couple of top squads (Rangers and Penguins).  The Lightning will be happy to be home where they are 15-8-2 this season.  That being said this game is the yearly father’s trip for the Ottawa Senators, which the Sens have done very well on in the past.  A rejuvenated Senators team, will be ready to impressive their father’s live from Tampa Bay and I believe this will be the difference.

Chicago Blackhawks @ Nashville Predators

The Blackhawks have lost 8 straight and looking at their schedule on NHL.com, the Predators started this losing trip with back-to-back wins against the Blackhawks way back on January 21st and 24th.  The Blackhawks have been bad on the road this season anyways with a 10-14-3 record, heading into Nashville where the Preds are 17-7-4.  As only small favourites you have to take the Preds in this one.

Play: Predators -123 (BetOnline.com)

Toronto Maple Leafs @ Calgary Flames

The Maple Leafs are slipping down the standings with their recent 3 regulation time losses, so this upcoming road trip to western Canada is very important for them.  To start out they head to Calgary to play a team that has done very well at home this season (15-8-2).  The Leafs road record of (12-13-2) isn’t completely horrible, but the team hasn’t been playing too well and the Flames as small favourites is the smart play in this one.

Play: Flames -116 (5Dimes.com)
