NHL Betting Predictions May 22nd

I dropped a couple games yesterday, so I’m looking for a big bounce back win tonight.  The only game on the agenda is the Sens and Pens, and this series has been very exciting thus far.

Regular Season Record: 68-59 for +11.33 units.

Playoff Record: 14-12 for +2.02 units.

Playoff Series Record: 8-0 for +9.05 units.

Pittsburgh Penguins @ Ottawa Senators

The Pens were so close to a 3-0 stranglehold on the series with just 30 seconds left in game 3, but a heroic effort by Alfredsson pushed the game to overtime.  It took until double overtime for the Sens to solve Vokoun again, but Greening battled hard for the winner.

The teams will now have had two days to recover from the game 3 marathon and think about how they can win game 4.  The Sens will need more stellar goaltending from Craig Anderson and I expect them to get it.  Vokoun has also been great and the two day breaks are definitely more advantageous to him than they are to Anderson who enjoys playing every game during the regular season.  That said Alfredsson and Gonchar could definitely use the extra day, as both are pushing the ends of their careers.

I like the Senators as dogs in this one.  They have won every game at Scotiabank Place this playoffs and they really seem to play better hockey there.  In fact they just seem like they can’t lose.  Down by 2 goals with 8 minutes left they managed to win game 4 of their first round series as well.  I see this series being won by whoever can win away from home and I don’t think that will happen tonight.  Take the Sens as dogs.

Play: Senators +130 (5Dimes.eu)
