NHL Betting Tips December 19th

Minnesota Wild logoThe Sens let me down last night, and the Pens almost did the same blowing a 3-1 lead in the third period before pulling out the win in the shootout.  So basically a break even night for me last night, which takes the season record to 26-47 for -24.31 units.  Plenty of games in the NHL like a usual Thursday…

Minnesota Wild @ Pittsburgh Penguins

The Penguins just played last night and luckily snuck out a win in New York after being up 3-1.  Tonight they face a much stronger challenger in the Minnesota Wild and they are still a very depleted team.  They have still won 5 in a row, but they can only play at this level without some key pieces for so long.  The Wild have also won 2 in a row and are in the thick of the playoff race in the West.  I think they will pull this out against a possibly fatigued Penguins team.

Play: Wild 2.25 (5Dimes)

Phoenix Coyotes @ Toronto Maple Leafs

I will take pretty much anyone over the Maple Leafs right now and the Coyotes are a strong team.  Yes they’ve lost their last two games, but they are an above average team from the Western Conference, which pretty much spells trouble for the Maple Leafs.  I like the Coyotes to keep the Maple Leafs struggles alive tonight.

Play: Coyotes 1.893 (5Dimes)

Vancouver Canucks @ Dallas Stars

The Canucks are 8-1-1 in their last ten and have been playing some very good hockey.  They did just drop an OT loss in Minnesota a couple nights ago, but they should be able to bounce back in Dallas.  This is a big game with the Canucks still trying to jump into the top 3 spots in the Pacific division, which is extremely tough this year with 3 of the top 5 teams in the league.  I expect the Canucks to take it to the Stars in this one and come out with the victory.

Play: Canucks 1.901 (5Dimes)

In unrelated news the NFL is down to two weeks left in the regular season.  It’s almost time to bet on the Super Bowl online before the playoffs start to ensure you get a big payout.  With Aaron Rodgers likely set to come back and the Packers playoff fate in their own hands I like the Packers as a long shot Super Bowl winner this year.
