After another bad night we will look to get back on track tonight. There are some sharp plays tonight with many of the NHL’s bottomfeeders in action. The top exclusive pick from yesterday did pan out as expected with the Panthers beating up on the Islanders. Sign up for the newsletter at the bottom of this page to receive the exclusive Saturday pick weekly.
New York Islanders (+1.5) -170 (TheSportsbook.com)
Atlanta Thrashers (-1.5) +155 (Bookmaker.com)
The Islanders lost their 12th straight game last night at home against the Florida Panthers. They now take to the road on short rest to meet up with a confident Thrashers team that defeated the powerful Washington Capitals 5-0 two days earlier. Eight of the Islanders 12 losses have been by 2 or more goals. I see the losing streak continuing with the Thrashers outplaying a tired and unconfident Islanders squad.
My Pick: Atlanta Thrashers (-1.5) +155
Calgary Flames (+1.5) -140 (Bookmaker.com)
Detroit Red Wings (-1.5) +130 (Sportsbook.com)
The Flames were able to break out of a long slump on Friday with a 7-2 win over the Blackhawks. Now they must head to Detroit to face who many consider the top team in the Western Conference. Detroit lost to Minnesota in overtime on Friday night and will be looking to bounce back with a big offensive performance against a Flames team that lacks defensive ability. I expect the Red Wings to win this game by a wide margin.
My Pick: Detroit Red Wings (-1.5) +130
Edmonton Oilers (+1.5) -165 (Bookmaker.com)
Anaheim Ducks (-1.5) +150 (Sportsbook.com)
The Oilers have lost 6 in a row and are widely considered the worst team in the Western Conference and even perhaps the league. The Oilers have won only 2 of their last 16 games, with both wins over last years Stanley Cup Champion Blackhawks. The Ducks are on a four game losing skid of their own, so they will be licking their lips at the chance to break the slump playing the Oilers at home. The Ducks are 7-2-1 at home this season and the win column should increase after tonight.
My Pick: Anaheim Ducks (-1.5) +150

After a rough night last night going 0-4 trying to hit some puckline covers, Saturday night action provides the opportunity to right the ship. That being said I didn’t find too many sharp bets and have settled on only 3 wagers. My top exclusive pick was sent out via email to newsletter subscribers earlier today. Sign up for the newsletter below the predictions in order to receive the exclusive Saturday pick from here on out.
Los Angeles Kings vs Boston Bruins – Over/Under 5
The Bruins and Kings are number 1 and 4, respectively, for goals against allowed per game. Jonathan Quick and Tim Thomas are getting the nods in net for each team with each goaltender ready to perform in order to continue to secure their number one spot over talented young backups. This game should be a low scoring affair with fewer than 5 goals scored more often than not. For my first over/under pick of the season I’m taking under 5.
Philadelphia Flyers (+1.5) -230 (Sportsbook.com)
Washington Capitals (-1.5) +200 (Bookmaker.com)
The Capitals were destroyed 5-0 last night in Atlanta and the Flyers are coming off a wild 8-7 loss to the Lightning. The Caps are (10-1-0) at home this season and last nights embarrassing loss should have the team fired up to return home. The Flyers showed a multitude of defensive lapses last game and the fact that Brian Boucher is getting the nod over Bobrovsky leans me towards picking the Capitals in this one. I see the Caps coming out firing and Boucher not up to the task.
My Pick: Washington Capitals (-1.5) +200
Columbus Blue Jackets (+1.5) -155 (Bookmaker.com)
San Jose Sharks (-1.5) +135 (Bookmaker.com)
The Sharks are another team that will be happy to return home after back to back overtime losses on the road. The Sharks have won 6 of their last 7 road games and four of these wins covered the puckline spread. The Blue Jackets have been very good lately winning their last 2 road games and winning 7 of their last 10 games in total. However, the Sharks have something to prove tonight and the extra day of rest should help them against a Blue Jackets team that is likely tiring from life on the road.
My Pick: San Jose Sharks (-1.5) +135
The NHL Betting Tips free picks record is now 27-18 for +7.77 units. Check out past predictions and find new ones in the NHL predictions section of the site.

It’s been a busy week in the NHL and tonight is no different with another 9 games on tap. I’ve found 4 bets that I like, check them out below:
Carolina Hurricanes (+1.5) -200 (Bookmaker.com)
Pittsburgh Penguins (-1.5) +175 (TheSportsbook.com)
Carolina (4-6-0) on the road this season are coming off a huge 7-1 win over the Senators in Carolina. This win was very similar to their 7-1 win over Edmonton in Carolina only 4 games ago. The game after the big win over the Oilers, the Hurricanes lost 8-1 in Philadelphia. Overall, the Hurricanes last 4 games have each been decided by 5 or more goals.
Pittsburgh (4-5-1) at home this season have covered the spread in each of their last 3 wins this season, including a 3-1 victory over Vancouver on Wednesday. Crosby will be at his best in order to match Stamkos’ output from last night and stay in the hunt for the Art Ross. The Penguins odds to win the game straight up were -175, so with a winnings of 3 times more than the moneyline I’m going with the puckline cover.
My Pick: Pittsburgh Penguins (-1.5) +175
Washington Capitals (-1.5) +175 (Bookmaker.com)
Atlanta Thrashers (+1.5) -200 (Sportsbook.com)
The Capitals have the highest powered offense in the league and have covered the spread in each of their last 4 wins. The Thrashers, (3-5-1) at home this season, are on a 3 game losing skid and have lost by 2 or more goals in 3 of their last 5 outtings. Once again I like the puckline bet over the moneyline wager because its about triple the payout and there is a good chance that the Capitals run away with this game.
My Pick: Washington Capitals (-1.5) +175
Phoenix Coyotoes (-1.5) +240 (Bookmaker.com)
Edmonton Oilers (+1.5) -280 (Bodog.com)
Phoenix is on a 4 game winning streak and have been playing some solid hockey of late. The Oilers on the other hand are the bottomfeeders of the Western Conference and have been getting clobbered recently, losing 4 of their last 5 games by 4 or more goals. The Oilers are very bad and I expect them to be blown out once again in front of their home fans.
My Pick: Phoenix Coyotes (-1.5) +240
Chicago Blackhawks -130 (Bookmaker.com)
Calgary Flames +110 (Bookmaker.com)
The Blackhawks are beginning to turn their season around with wins in their last 2 games. They are (5-2-2) on the road this season, while the Flames are (4-5-0) at home. I’ve been fading the Flames a lot this season because I believe them to be the second worst team in the West (next to Edmonton) and tonight is no different. The Flames have lost 7 of their last 8 and will be without Olli Jokinen tonight, who is out due to a suspension. In my only non-puckline bet of the night I’m taking the Blackhawks.
My Pick: Chicago Blackhawks -130
The Stars’ comeback salvaged a (1-1) record from yesterdays predictions, bringing the NHL Betting Tips record to (27-14) on the season for +11.77 units. Tonight we just need a couple puckline covers to increase that amount and I’m confident that at least two of the three puckline covers will come through. There are five games in the NHL tonight and when I first looked at the lines this morning I didn’t see any that I was interested in wagering on. I just took a second look now though and have seen some pretty big changes to a couple of lines. Enough so that I now like two bets for this evenings games.
Nashville Predators +130 (Bookmaker.com)
Montreal Canadiens -145 (Sportsbook.com)
The Predators blew a huge lead in Toronto on Tuesday night and now travel to Montreal looking to put that loss behind them. The Preds are (4-5-0) on the road this season, but have lost 6 of their last 8 games, with their only 2 wins in that span coming in shootouts. The Predators have not been playing their best hockey of late and they have been taking far too many dumb penalties, which was evident in the game in Toronto. The two shootout wins may have made it seem like the Predators had come out of their slump, but the truth is they have not scored more goals than their oppenents in 8 straight games and they are on the road against a hot Canadiens team tonight.
The Habs are riding a 4 game winning streak and Carey Price has been playing some of the best hockey of his career. He’s been so good that I dare say the fans won’t boo if he lets in a soft goal tonight. The Canadiens are (6-3-1) at home this season, which is still not as good as their away record, but it’s much better than last years home winning percentage of 48.8%. The Canadiens have beaten some good teams on this winning streak including the Canucks, Bruins and most recently the super hot Flyers. Look for the Habs to continue their winning ways this evening.
My Pick: Montreal Canadiens -145
San Jose Sharks -110 (TheSportsbook.com)
Dallas Stars -105 (Bookmaker.com)
When I checked the lines earlier today the Sharks were the underdogs of about +105 at most online bookies. I felt like that was the proper odds considering the Sharks had played last night in a tight battle and have lost 4 straight road games. Even though the Sharks are the better team straight up, their road woes, coupled with the fatigue that will set in after losing a heartbreaking overtime game in Colorado should have the Sharks as the underdogs in this one in my opinion. Especially when you consider that Dallas is (6-3-0) at home this season and are coming off a big home win over the surging Ducks on Tuesday night. The change in this line from morning to this afternoon has created a sharp bet on the Dallas Stars.
My Pick: Dallas Stars -105
After going 3 for 4 last night the NHL Betting Tips prediction record for the season is now (26-13) for +11.82 units. Check back for more winning NHL betting predictions and sign up to the newsletter below for our exclusive members only Saturday pick and more exclusive promotions!

Tonight is a very busy night in the NHL with 12 games on tap this evening. This is a rare occurrence for a Wednesday night, but the multitude of games being played allowed me to pick out 4 sharp bets.
Boston Bruins +100 (Bookmaker.com)
New York Rangers -120 (Bookmaker.com)
The Bruins are (6-1-0) on the road this season and may be eager to get out of Boston after scoring only 4 goals in a 3 game homestand where they earned 2 of a possible 6 points. In their most recent road game the Bruins scored 7 goals against Pittsburgh rallying with 5 goals in the third period. Thomas will be back in goal tonight after shutting out New Jersey in the final game of that homestand. Thomas has been amazing this season and the Bruins should really never be considered the underdogs with him in net.
The Rangers, who are (4-5-1) at home this season, are playing some of their best hockey since Marian Gaborik’s return, including an 8-2 spanking of the lowly Oilers on Sunday night. The Rangers have won 3 straight, but I believe them to be overachieving at the moment. The Rangers should have trouble scoring against a solid Bruins team with Thomas in net and I see the Bruins winning this game the majority of the time.
My Pick: Boston Bruins +100
Ottawa Senators +100 (Sportsbook.com)
Carolina Hurricanes -115 (Bookmaker.com)
The Sens are coming off an embarrassing loss in Philadelphia and should be ready to go in this the 3rd game of their 4 game road trip. Excluding the game against the Flyers, the Senators have been playing very good hockey lately and Brian Elliot has been very good. Karlsson has been playing like they expect and Gonchar is beginning to find his groove. These two puck-moving defensemen are very key to the Senators success. Ottawa is (4-4-1) on the road this season.
The Hurricanes are (4-3-0) at home, but have been thumped badly in both of their last two games. Losing 8-1 and 7-2 to the Flyers and Canadiens. Carolina will look to bounce back, but if they couldn’t bounce back from an 8-1 loss, what makes me think they will bounce back from a 7-2 loss. Carolina needs to get their act together because they are quickly slipping out of the playoff picture in the East.
I am surprised the Senators are dogs in this one because they should win this game more often than not.
My Pick: Ottawa Senators +100
Anaheim Ducks +150 (TheSportsbook.com)
Minnesota Wild -160 (Bookmaker.com)
The Ducks are coming off of a tough loss last night in Dallas, but they won’t have too much time to worry about it because they are back in action in Minnesota tonight. Last nights loss is the Ducks second in a row, following a 6 game winning streak. These two recent road losses, along with their (3-7-1) road record, show that the Ducks still have trouble playing away from Anaheim.
The Wild have been solid at home this season (5-3-1) and they know that every game is huge for them to have a shot at the playoffs. Backstrom has been playing some of the best games of his career and Martin Havlat has started to pick it up offensively, which is important for the Wild who have the 27th ranked offensive in the league. Burns will face the second game of his suspension tonight, but the Wild were able to win without him in Tampa Bay and they should be able to follow up that showing with a win versus Anaheim tonight.
My Pick: Minnesota Wild -160
Phoenix Coyotes +125 (Bookmaker.com)
Calgary Flames -140 (Bodog.com)
The Coyotes are on a 3 game winning streak, while the Flames have lost 6 of their last 7. The Coyotes are (3-3-2) on the road this season, while the Flames are (4-4-0) at home. It is becoming quite clear to me that the Flames will be one of the bottomfeeders in the league this season and the Coyotes should once again be a playoff contender. I will be taking +125 for the Coyotes against the Flames all day long!
My Pick: Phoenix Coyotes +125
After the Predators loss last night the NHL Betting Tips record is now (23-12) for +9.94 units. Make sure you sign up at the newsletter below in order to receive our exclusive Saturday pick this weekend!

It’s another fairly quiet night in the NHL with only 3 games on tap, but there is one NHL betting line that I very much like this evening.
Nashville Predators -105 (Bookmaker.com)
Toronto Maple Leafs -110 (TheSportsbook.com)
The Predators (7-5-3) have bounced back with 2 wins after 5 straight losses. These wins were both in shootouts, so they were hard fought battles, but they were over two very tough teams in the Blues and Blackhawks. The Predators road record on the season is (4-4-0) and they know they need to win games against weak Eastern Conference opponents in order to have a shot at the playoffs in the stronger West. The Predators have been scoring by committee so far this season with Cal O’Reilly leading the team with 12 points in 15 games. Nashville is 26th in the league in goals per game and they will be looking for more production from players like Steve Sullivan and JP Dumont going forward.
The Maple Leafs have now lost 8 straight and 11 of their last 12. The team is 28th in goals for per game, but only 15th in goals against. That being said the Maple Leafs have been allowing plenty of goals against in recent games so this may be becoming a problem once again. The Leafs need their scorers like Kessel, Grabovski, Kadri and Kaberle to put up points if they are going to win games. A team that averages only 2.19 goals for per game isn’t going to win a lot of games in this league. The Maple Leafs need to get out of this slump soon and after a strong showing against the Canucks that still ended in a loss they players are surely ready to get back on the ice and play this game. But is that enough? I don’t think so. The team lacks the skill and the knowhow to win games in this league. It’s going to be another long season for the Maple Leaf faithful.
My Pick: Nashville Predators -105

Another big Saturday in the NHL tonight with 22 teams in action. My top pick for the night has already been sent out via email to all newsletter subscribers. To receive the exclusive Saturday pick next week sign up to the newsletter below.
Ottawa Senators +145 (Bookmaker.com)
Boston Bruins -160 (Bodog.com)
The Senators have been hot of late and with Elliott back in goal they should be able to bounce back and have a solid game against the Bruins. Boston rocked the Senators 4-0 in Ottawa in their last meeting and this should add to the Senators drive to succeed tonight. The Bruins have been one of the top teams in the league this season, but they haven’t found much success at home with a (2-3-1) record including a 3-1 loss to Montreal on Thursday. Both teams will be coming with their ace goaltenders tonight and Ottawa will have to find a way to beat Thomas, which they could not do in their last meeting. I see this being a close battle, but the Senators should be able to pull out a win about half the time.
My Pick: Ottawa Senators +145
Vancouver Canucks -155 (Bookmaker.com)
Toronto Maple Leafs +140 (TheSportsbook.com)
The Leafs have been horrible lately and I don’t think shaking up the lineup by bringing Kadri in will help much. The Canucks have won 7 of their last 8 games and rolled over a strong Senators team on Thursday night. The Sedin twins are continuing their torrid scoring pace, each having 18 points in 15 games and Kesler is starting to provide some secondary scoring, which is key for the Canucks success. Vancouver hasn’t been great on the road this season, but they have won 3 of their last 4 games on the road. The Leafs are too weak a team to match up with the speed and skill of the Canucks.
My Pick: Vancouver Canucks -155
St. Louis Blues -110 (Bookmaker.com)
Phoenix Coyotes -110 (Bookmaker.com)
The Blues travel to Phoenix after two losses and the 8-1 shellacking by the Blue Jackets fresh in their minds. The Blues are (3-2-2) on the road this season, but they come into Phoenix with a days rest; a luxury the Coyotoes do not have. Phoenix defeated Calgary at home last night, but the Coyotes are (0-4) in back to back games this year and the Blues will be a very tough test. The Blues should still be looking for redemption and Halak should be back to his elite self in this game. I see the Blues winning this game more often than not.
My Pick: St. Louis Blues -110
Calgary Flames (+1.5) -170 (Bookmaker.com)
San Jose Sharks (-1.5) +150 (Bookmaker.com)
The Flames lost a tough battle in Phoenix last night and are right back at it tonight against the Sharks. The Flames have not looked good this season and playing back to back games should take a toll. The Sharks haven’t been at their best, but they have the weapons to run up the score against a tired and defeated opponent. The Flames have lost 5 of their last 6 games and Iginla is in one of the biggest scoring slumps of his career. The Sharks are an elite team in this league and I expect them to start playing like it soon. A game against a weak opponent such as the Flames is the perfect opportunity for the Sharks to explode offensively.
My Pick: San Jose Sharks (-1.5) +150

Six games on tap tonight and I like the lines on two of the games. I’m short on time today so this writeup will be short, just quickly touching on why each team should win.
Calgary Flames +105 (Bodog.com)
Phoenix Coyotes -120 (Bookmaker.com)
Calgary is (7-7-0) on the season and (3-3-0) on the road. They had lost four games in a row before bouncing back with a win over the Avalanche on Tuesday. They haven’t looked good recently, including during their win and this is their third road game in a row which could be taking a toll.
The Coyotes are (5-5-5) this season, losing every time they take the game to overtime. The home record is only (2-2-3), but the Coyotes are coming off a big win in Chicago and should have confidence heading back to the Jobing.com arena.
My Pick: Phoenix Coyotes -120
Dallas Stars +125 (Bookmaker.com)
Anaheim Ducks -145 (Bookmaker.com)
The Stars record is (8-6-0) and they are playing back to back nights after losing last night in Los Angeles. The Stars road record is (3-3-0), but they lost their last back to back road game 5-0 in Colorado. Dallas has been a very streaky team this season and right now they are on a 2 game losing skid.
The Ducks are (9-7-1) this season, mainly due to their impressive (6-1-1) home record. The Ducks are on a five game winning streak and are playing good hockey now after that horrible start to the season.
My Pick: Anaheim Ducks -145
The NHL Betting Tips overall record this season is now (19-9) for +9.32 units. We will continue to post free NHL picks daily so check back often.

Another busy Thursday in the NHL tonight with 20 teams in action. I have found 3 sharp bets today, so check them out below:
Vancouver Canucks -120 (Bookmaker.com)
Ottawa Senators +105 (TheSportsbook.com)
The Vancouver Canucks continue their road trip through Eastern Canada with a stop in Ottawa tonight to take on the surging Senators. The Canucks lost the first game of their road trip in Montreal on Tuesday by a score of 2-0. The ‘Nucks are hoping to start winning a few games on the road because their road record so far this season is not great (2-4-1). The Canucks were on a five game win streak before that loss and offense wasn’t a problem for them in that span, scoring 20 goals in the five games. They will look to regain their winning form, but it will be difficult playing another hot team in the Senators.
The Sens are on a 4 game winning streak and have looked very good since Brian Elliott took over in net. Jason Spezza has found his form and their important puck-moving defensemen Erik Karlsson and Sergei Gonchar are on fire after a slow start to the season. The Senators are (5-3-0) at home this season and are playing very good hockey at this time.
It surprises me that the Senators are considered the underdogs in this game considering the fact they have been playing so well and the Canucks have struggled on the road this season. The ‘Nucks could bounce back, but if the Senators are able to start Brian Elliot they should be able to pull out a win in this one. If Leclaire starts that could be another story. So keep your eyes and ears open for tonights starting goaltender on the Senators side. Luongo has the nod for the Canucks. For now:
My Pick: Ottawa Senators +105
Minnesota Wild +115 (Sportsbook.com)
Atlanta Thrashers -125 (TheSportsbook.com)
The Wild (7-4-2) head to Atlanta to play what seems to be a rare away game this season. The Wild are (2-1-1) on the road this season and that is after playing 13 games in total. Minnesota seems to have finally grasped the concept that coach Todd Richards has been preaching for over a year and have turned into a strong competitors and a fun team to watch. The Wild are riding a 3 game winning streak and have found ways to pull out one goal victories, which is a great mark of a winning team.
The Thrashers (6-6-3) have lost their last 3 games and are starting to look more like the team that was expected to take the ice before the season began. They have been giving up a lot of goals throughout the season, but Ondrej Pavelec back in the lineup should help them down the stretch. Newcomers Andrew Ladd and Dustin Byfuglien are leading the team with 14 points and this goes to show that the core of the team is lacking when two 3rd liners from Chicago come in and become the top players in the lineup. The Thrashers are (2-3-1) at home this season.
Another game where the favourite seems askew. The Wild have been playing great and the Thrashers have been playing poorly and boast a losing home record.
My Pick: Minnesota Wild +115
The Bruins comeback win last night over the Penguins improved the NHL Betting Tips free prediction record to (19-7) +11.32 units for the season. Check back daily for more NHL betting predictions. Six games on tap in the NHL tonight including the Boston Bruins taking to the ice, which seems like a rare occurrence to this point in the season. The Bruins have only played 11 games so far this season, which is the least in the NHL. That being said they are still slotted into the 7th spot in the East with a (7-3-1) record. The Penguins have played 4 more games than the Bruins thusfar and have recorded the same number of points. Their record to this point sits at (7-7-1).
Boston Bruins +110 (TheSportsbook.com)
Pittsburgh Penguins -125 (Sportsbook.com)
Boston is the underdog in this one according to the bookmakers even though their road record (5-1-0) is very impressive and the Penguins home record (2-4-0) leaves a lot to be desired. David Krejci is out for the Penguins after suffering a concussion in their last game, but the Bruins have the depth at center to make due without one of their stars. Mike Comrie may be out of the lineup for the Penguins tonight with an illness, but he plays minimal minutes and really only contributes on the powerplay.
Boston’s defense has been air tight so far this season giving up an average of only 1.73 goals per game, which is second in the league next to St. Louis. A big reason for this has been Tim Thomas’ stellar start to the season. Thomas is leading the league in shutouts with 3 (tied with Halak), in GAA with 1.02 and in save percentage with .967. Thomas should start tonight and this gives Boston a great chance of winning. The pickup of Nathan Horton has also looked very good so far as he leads the team in both goals (6) and points (11).
The Penguins are currently outside of the playoffs looking in, which isn’t where a preseason Stanley Cup contender wants to be. The Pens have had to deal with Marc-Andre Fleury not being at his best this season. Fleury has 1 win in 8 games and has recorded a 3.55 GAA and a .853 save percentage to start the season. Teams simply can’t win with those goaltender numbers. One bright spot for the Penguins has been the play of their captain Sidney Crosby, who has 19 points in 15 games and is ranked 3rd in the league in points. That is the production the team needs from Crosby when they really have no other threats other than Malkin who has been less than effective scoring only 10 points so far this season.
The Bruins are playing very well as a team so far this season and the Penguins don’t have the depth to produce past Crosby and Malkin. It’s surprising that the Bruins are the underdogs in this game.
My Pick: Boston Bruins +115
NHLBettingTips.com has a free pick record of (18-7) for +10.17 units. Check back daily for more free NHL betting predictions!
